Reconstruct
Translate a recognizable real place into a cinematic 3D environment with its own scale, atmosphere, and sense of history.
Digital Twin · Unreal Engine 5 · Cinematic Worldbuilding
I rebuilt a place I know by heart, then kept returning to it as the tools and the stories evolved.
What began as an Unreal Engine reconstruction of the Asbury Park boardwalk became a reusable filmmaking environment: part digital twin, part cinematic backlot, and part long-term experiment in virtual production. Each return to the project adds new lighting, locations, cameras, weather, technical systems, and narrative possibilities.
Translate a recognizable real place into a cinematic 3D environment with its own scale, atmosphere, and sense of history.
Approach the world like a filmmaker: lenses, blocking, light, weather, timing, and camera movement before technical spectacle.
Turn the environment into a dependable stage for short films, visual studies, client experiments, and location ideas.
Return with stronger tools and a sharper eye. The world is never a single export; it grows alongside the practice.
A recent pass through the evolving environment, showing the boardwalk as a reusable cinematic stage rather than a finished one-off scene.
A story made inside the world: AI voice, real-time rendering, and the boardwalk used as an authored dramatic location.
